Things to Remember
Please ensure your child brings their water bottle with them into school everyday. All children should have a pair of pumps for them to wear during the day in school. If not, please could these be brought into school. Please ensure that all items of clothing, has your child's name written in it, so it can be easily identified and returned to them. |

Autumn 1
Take a look, what we have been up to this half term.
First Weeks in Reception The children have settled very well into reception! They have all made some great friendships and had lots of fun learning about each other. |
Safeguarding Week
This week is all about safeguarding and mindfulness week. The children had an off-day timetable full of activities, these included threading, mindfulness music, yoga and circle time. We learned who we could talk to when we are at school and at home too.
Autumn Walk and The Local Area
The children have been out onto our school field in our smaller groups, the children went out to see what they could find for our autumn tuff tray, we had lots of fun! We have also been on a local area walk, to see what was in our local area, we could see school, houses, church, trees and flats. The children could also hear cars and buses going past, there was lots of leaves on the path and could hear them crunching and rustling beneath our feet.
African Drumming Workshop
The children have taken part in an African Drumming Workshop, they listened to a rhythm and had to copy this rhythm back using their instrument. The children took it in turn to have a go at each of the different instruments while using puppets and different rhythms and saying to preform altogether.

Bonfire Night
The children have been learning all about Bonfire night and who Guy Fawkes is. The children have had a visit from our local PSCO about how we keep safe on bonfire night. We have recreated our bonfire and firework picture on black card using chalk. Some great bonfire pitcures.
SNOW DAY ACTIVITIES
Snow Days offer a wonderful opportunity for the children to get outside and be physically active whilst exploring this beautiful and interesting weather phenomenon in all sorts of ways; as scientists, as artists, as geographers ...and as children.
As teachers, we have made the decision to embrace this as a wonderful opportunity for home learning when the children cannot safely come into school. Please find below, all sorts of ideas for learning activities that the children can do which are linked to the snow.
We have decided not to organise these under age-related headings. All of the activities are good fun and most are 'open-ended' enough that the children can explore them at the level which suits them.
This week the children have been looking at different nursery rhymes. They are building on partner work and teamwork. We have been listening to the music to find the pulse and discussing about dynamics by singing loudly and softly. We have lots of activties and areas of provision linked to a specific nursrey rhyme each day.
Our Christmas Nativity
The children have been practicing their lines and our christmas nativity songs. In RE we have been learning and preparing for the birth of Jesus at christmas time. We have learnt about the important key figures wihtin the nativity story. The children did a great job in performing to the rest of the school and their partents.

The children had their own chinese home area to explore and use some of the items used on thier special day
