At St Nicholas, our approach to SEND is rooted in our mission to “love one another as I have loved you.” This guides everything we do as we strive to create a school where every child feels valued, supported and able to flourish.
As part of our inclusive, faith-filled community, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils — regardless of need or background — are fully included in school life. We recognise that every child is a unique and precious gift from God, and we take time to understand each child as an individual.
Through early identification, strong relationships and carefully planned support, we work to remove barriers to learning so that every child can succeed academically, socially and spiritually. This work is a shared responsibility across our school, led by our Inclusion Team and supported by all staff.
We work in close partnership with families and external professionals to ensure that the right provision is in place for each child, and that support is regularly reviewed and adapted as needed.
On this page, you will find information about how we identify, support and review provision for pupils with SEND.
If you have any questions about our SEND provision, or would like to contribute to the annual review of our SEND Information Report, please contact our SEND team:

The Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice (2015) set out how schools identify, assess, and support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
These reforms were introduced following feedback from parents and carers, aiming to create a more personalised, coordinated, and family-centred approach for children and young people with SEND aged 0–25.
Every Local Authority must publish a Local Offer — a single place where families can find information about support, advice, and services available for children and young people with SEND.
In Leeds, the Local Offer includes information across education, health, and social care, helping families access the right help at the right time.
You can find out more by visiting the Leeds Local Offer website:

Our full SEND Information Report is available on this page only.
It outlines how we identify and support pupils with additional needs, how we monitor impact, and how we ensure our school environment remains inclusive and accessible to all.
Our Accessibility Plan can be found in the Key Information → Policies section of our website.
This plan details how we continue to improve access to our school’s environment, curriculum, and communication for all pupils, staff, and visitors.
