Year 5/6

Miss McBride

Welcome to our class blog!  For Year 5, this year marks the move for children from lower to upper Key Stage 2. It is an exciting and challenging year for your children. The essence of this year is to provide them with many opportunities to gain in independence and to seek out and accept greater responsibility.

For Year 6, this year is the children’s final year at St Nicholas’ and is the time when we prepare for transition to high school. This year is packed with exciting and challenging opportunities where we strive to develop the children’s independence and hand over greater responsibility.

Here you can take a look at all the fantastic things we have been doing throughout the year. Below, you will also find copies of children's termly topic leaflets, homework menus and spelling lists as well as links to key learning resources for the children to use outside of school.

Autumn Term

Year 6

During our first half-term, we wrote a balanced argument in response to the question: Is the farming of palm oil ethically justifiable?

We wrote this after watching the Iceland Green Peace advert and reading the book "There's a Rang-tan in my bedroom."
